Wer wir sind und was wir wollen
Wir sind eine Gruppe linker Menschen aus diversen Kontexten in und rund um Ulm. Wir sind eine mehrheitlich weiß sozialisierte Gruppe, mit verschiedenen Geschlechtsidentitäten, able-bodied und aus verschiedenen Bildungskontexten. Wir wollten mit dem Festival ein Gegenprojekt zur Grauzonenmusik beim „Rock dein Leben“ Festival in Laichingen bieten und auf die Thematik aufmerksam machen.
Wir verstehen uns als antifaschistische, antisexistische und antirassistische Gruppe, auch wenn uns gleichzeitig bewusst ist, dass auch wir natürlich nicht frei davon sind. Wir wollen uns kritisch mit unseren Privilegien auseinandersetzen, um für eine bessere Welt für alle zu kämpfen. Nach Zeiten von Geschwurbel, Einschränkungen des sozialen Lebens durch Coronamaßnahmen und den üblichen Problemen wie Nazis, wollen wir einen Ort schaffen, der offen für alle Menschen ist, safer spaces bietet, die Wirkmächtigkeit von Musik im gesellschaftlichen und politischen Kontext sieht und nutzt und in dem sich Menschen möglichst wohlfühlen können.
Seit 2018 gibt es das „Rock-dein-Leben“ Festival in Laichingen, bei dem jedes Jahr ca. 12000 Menschen zusammen kommen und regelmäßig Bands auftreten, die sich in einer Grauzone nach rechts bewegen./die sich inhaltlich in einer Grauzone befinden. Beispiele sind z.B. Frei.Wild, die jedes Jahr als Headliner mit dabei sind, aber auch BRDigung, Krawallbrüder, Berserker und Leitbild. Das Problem an diesen Bands und ihrer Musik ist, dass sie ein völkisches Weltbild, bestehend aus Heimat, Volk und Nation, verbreiten. Das beinhaltet auch Gedankengut, bei dem davon ausgegangen wird, dass es eine gewisse natürliche, angeborene Zugehörigkeit zu einem Volk und dem dazugehörigen, festgelegten Lebensraum gibt. Gleichzeitig werden Emotionen eingefangen durch eine undifferenzierte Gegenüberstellung von „wir“ gegen „die“.
Das ist insofern schwierig, als dass diese Bands sich unpolitisch geben, aber gleichzeitig durch die transportierten Inhalte an das völkische Weltbild anknüpfen, das eben rechte Gruppierungen als Grundlage für ihren Hass verwenden. Kritik an diesen Bands, die bereits häufig in der Vergangenheit erfolgte, wurde dadurch abgewehrt, indem die Bands sich als Opfer von Vergleichen mit rechten Bands darstellen und keinerlei Eigenanteile in ihren Texten sehen wollen. Dadurch bieten sie einen niedrigschwelligen Einstieg für das Publikum immer weiter nach rechts abzudriften. Ergänzt wird dies durch die in ihren Liedern verbreitete Misogynie. Durch sexistische Inhalte, in denen Elemente wie Rape Culture, Ablehnung von LGBTQIA+ auf andere konservative Männlichkeitsideale stoßen, werden Flinta*s objektiviert und abgewertet. In den Songs werden auch generell traditionelle, konservative, Rollenbilder und Familienstrukturen propagiert, wie der starke Mann, der sich nimmt, was er will und die willige, unterwürfige Frau, die zur Verfügung zu stehen hat.
Immer nur gegen solche Aktionen zu arbeiten kann auf Dauer doch etwas anstrengend und ätzend sein. Daher wird es dieses Jahr keine klassische Gegenaktion geben, sondern ein eigenes antifaschistisches und antisexistisches Festival hier in Ulm.
Mit einer bunten Mischung an Musik wollen wir am Wochenende vom 28.07 und 29.07.2023 gemeinsam feiern: ohne Sexismus, menschenfeindliche Inhalte und Heimatgesäusel.
English Version – Who we are and want we want
We are a group of left-wing people from various contexts in and around Ulm. We are a mostly white group, with different gender identities, able-bodied and from different educational contexts. With the festival we wanted to offer a counter-project to the grey zone music at the „Rock dein Leben“ festival in Laichingen and draw attention to the topic.
We see ourselves as an anti-fascist, anti-sexist and anti-racist group, even if we are aware at the same time that we are of course not free of it either. We want to deal critically with our privileges in order to fight for a better world for all. After times of Pandemic conspiracy theories, restrictions of social life by corona measures and the usual problems like Nazis, we want to create a place that is open for all people, offers safer spaces, sees and uses the impact of music in a social and political context and where people can feel as comfortable as possible.
Since 2018, there is the „Rock-dein-Leben“ festival in Laichingen, where every year about 12000 people come together and regularly bands perform, which move in a gray zone to the right./which are in a gray zone in terms of content. The problem with these bands and their music is that they spread a „völkisch“ (folkish-nationalistic) worldview consisting of homeland, people and nation. This includes thought patterns that assume that there is a certain natural, innate belonging to a people and the associated, defined habitat. At the same time, emotions are captured through an undifferentiated comparison of „us“ versus „them.“
This is problematic insofar as these bands pretend to be apolitical, but at the same time, through the content they convey, they tie in with the völkisch worldview that right-wing groups use as the basis for their hatred. Criticism of these bands, which has already occurred frequently in the past, has been fended off by the bands presenting themselves as victims of comparisons with right-wing bands and not wanting to see any of their own content in their lyrics. In this way, they offer a low-threshold entry point for the audience to drift further and further to the right. This is complemented by the misogyny spread in their songs. Through sexist content, in which elements such as rape culture, anti-lgbtqia+ collide with other conservative ideals of masculinity, Flinta*s are objectified and devalued. The songs also generally propagate traditional, conservative, role models and family structures, such as the strong man who takes what he wants and the willing, submissive woman who has to be available.
Always working against such actions can be a bit exhausting and annoying in the long run. Therefore, this year there will be no classic counteraction, but an own anti-fascist and anti-sexist festival here in Ulm.
With a colorful mix of music we want to celebrate together on the weekend of 28.07 and 29.07.2023: without sexism, misanthropic content and awful folksy music.
